Occasionally, we offer workshops for people interested in building botanical mandalas. As we explore our relationship with nature, we discover new understandings of ourselves and our place in the universe.
Mandalas are geometric designs or patterns that are spiritual and ritual symbols in Hinduism and Buddhism. Mandalas can be used as an aid to meditation, helping the meditator to envision how to achieve peace of mind. Tibetan sand mandalas are created only to be completely destroyed, leaving no trace, symbolizing the transitory nature of existence and the Buddhist value of non-attachment. Botanical mandalas are similar; with emphasis on the use of plants harvested from the environmental.
